American Idol KickOFF Night (10)

Last night on American Idol, the lowest three were (3) Phil Stacey, (2) Haley Scarnato, and (1) Chris Sligh. It was goodbye to Sligh and his awesome voice! It didn't come as much of a surprise though that he left because his song on Tuesday wasn't that great and completely off the beat. Oh well...he wasn't a shoo-in to win AI anyway, so see ya later, Chris!

Here's to Wishing Next Week Will Be the Last for Sanjaya!

American Idol *~* Top 10 *~*

This week my Tivo didn’t record American Idol because I had forgotten to set it. But I wasn’t worried because I have IdolStarTV.com and they always put all of the performances on there. So…today I watched them…and I hope I got the order right. Here it is!

In order of performance

(1) LaKisha Jones – Randy said that it was good to see the up-tempo stuff, she had on good boots, was hot, and had a true diva style to it. Paula said that she did the song and the artist justice. Simon said that he loved those boots, and now she is thirty years younger this week, good up-tempo song, big note at the end, and the real LaKisha is back. I thought it was good, too.

(2) Chris Sligh – It wasn’t that good of a performance, and it seemed like he wasn’t keeping with the tempo. Randy said that it was a good song for him, but the biggest problem was that rhythmically he was way ahead of the band. Rhythm-wise it was a train wreck. Paula said that the biggest criticism she can give him this season is that he needs to stay with the rhythm, but vocally it was good. Simon said that it was a mess especially at this stage in the competition. It was all over the place and the song didn’t suite him.

(3) Gina Glocksen – Randy said that he liked her boots and it was one of her best performances ever. He said that she has a big voice and just needs to believe in herself. Paula said that she improved and chose a good song that allowed her to soar with her vocals. Simon said that it wasn’t one of her best…it WAS her BEST performance. He also said that she chose the right song, and it was the best performance of the night so far. I would have to disagree. Her best performance was when she sang the Evanescence song, but this was great, too. I just love the rocker Gina!

(4) Sanjaya Malakar – WOW! The hair was horrible! And so was the singing! He sings way too softly, and you can’t hear him that well…not that we want to! Randy said that Sanjaya has him speechless every time – is it the hair or the rotten voice? He said the hairdo was interesting and liked the kind of Mohawk look. He also said that he could actually sing if he just put it out there. Paula said that if he had the ability to just go for it, he could do it. Simon said that he presumed there was no mirror in his room that night. Simon also said that it doesn’t matter anymore what they say. He says Sanjaya is in his own universe, and if people like him, good luck! In other words, “You are really bad at singing, and I don’t understand why people vote for you!”

(5) Haley Scarnato – She butchered the classic song “True Colors.” It wasn’t that great at all because she can’t sing that good. Randy said that it started a little rough but got better towards the end, but just alright and okay. He said it didn’t draw him in at all and had some pitchy moments. Paula said that it was more of an adult contemporary performance and didn’t stay young. Randy interjected with it not being the right song for her voice. Simon said that it was sweet but forgettable, there was nothing to remember really, too safe, and she needs to do better.

(6) Phil Stacey – Too Much Makeup!!! Randy said that he actually kind of liked it, was a really solid performance, and he didn’t push it. Paula said that he has so much personality and color, and the chorus was where he hit it. She also said that the verses are where he plays it safe until it builds up to the chorus, so he needs to build more character in the verses. Simon said that he actually thought that was very good, was a great choice of song, and he felt that this was the first time he actually took this competition seriously and tried to do well. I thought it was pretty good, too.

(7) Melinda Doolittle – Another good performance by the infamous Melinda! Randy said that he called her the pro last week because she comes out every week with everything worked out and doesn’t just sing but actually lives the words of the song. She sings with feeling all throughout the song! Paula said that she has charisma and tells a story from the very first word that comes out of her mouth, and she is so joyful when she sings. Simon said that it probably wasn’t her best performance but vocally, as usual, was outstanding. And he said that he hated the outfit. I kinda liked the outfit, and she, of course, sang great again!

(8) Blake Lewis – Randy said that it wasn’t the perfect song choice for him, but he made the most of it and left it in a tender spot, and he liked it. Paula said she loved what he did with the song. He’s taking risks, making it contemporary, original, hip, and fun. She also said she would love to see him in the finale. Simon said that he is the strongest guy in the competition for sure, but he said he needs to be careful of being too indulgent and too boring. For sure, he is the front running guy!

(9) Jordin Sparks – I liked her performance, but it wasn’t her best. Randy said that it was a very risky thing to do, stylizing a song like that, but she could sing anything and would be a great performing artist. Paula said that she is adorable, hip, young, and she loves seeing her in that kind of mode. Simon said that she is probably the most improved contestant. She appeared much younger and more confident, but the song was a little copy-cattish. Good Job Again, Jordin!

(10) Chris Richardson – It was a good, solid performance this week for him, and I liked it. Randy said that it was very interesting and he liked his flavor, but it wasn’t his best vocal. Paula said that he is good, very good. Simon said that he did much better at the song choice this week, but he wasn’t crazy about the vocal. He said that he struggled in the middle and needs to pay more attention to his vocals.

All over, it was another good week. I guess we’ll see who is gone tonight. I’ve lost hoping in Sanjaya’s kick off. There are those people out there who are ruining American Idol by voting for the worst because they are bitter at being shooed away. Come on! You are sent home because you can’t sing! If only your friends and family say you are good, you need to get another opinion by a stranger before auditioning for American Idol…only then will you truly know if you have a good voice!

New Glasses

Today I got new glasses! It has been over three years since I've had new ones. The hardest part now is trying to get used to them. They are plastic this time around, and it feels really weird. I hope I can get used to them quick because I really like the style.

***WILDFIRE Season Finale***

WOW! The Wildfire Season Finale was HORRIBLE! I mean, it was great, but it was horrible! Kris and Matt discussed the illegal race that the Sheik Omar offered to them, and, in the end, Matt decided against it. At Davis Farms, Dani decided against it as well, even when the stakes were raised to $2 Million. But Junior wouldn't have it, so he went behind her back and had Gillian ride. And Kris went behind Matt's back and went to the race. But who won? No one! Kris won the race, yes, but the consequences left everyone with a loss.

Dani phoned the police when she saw that Junior had taken Avatar, and so the police found out about the whole race. Kris handed over the $2 Million and her jockey's license while Dani Davis also had to hand over her racing license. Kris was also told to leave the Raintree Ranch for good. Saying goodbye to Wildfire, who had been taken to the Davis Ranch by Pablo, she hit the road. Waking up to find Kris gone, Matt also discovered that his mother had sold ALL of Raintree's horses in order to pay the bills. Matt ran off hysterical, saying that he had to find Kris because he needed her.

What a horrible ending! Everyone lost! But even if I were Kris, I still would have raced because Raintree was in desperate need of money! WOW! Great episode, horrible ending!

I Went To The Fight...

And a Hockey Game Broke Out! This weekend my family and I went to Des Moines, Iowa for my dad's company picnic. This year it was a hockey game. I had never been to one, so it was a new experience. I rather liked it! We had great seats, so we got to hear and see them slam against the side of the rink. It was cool! Sadly, the Iowa Stars lost, but it was still a great game to watch. Only in the third period did the other team (Admirals) start to score. From where we were sitting, we got to watch as the Iowa Stars almost made a goal, and we even got to see the Admirals make their goal. And a fight broke out on the ice near where we were sitting. We got to see it all! I really had fun, but I don't think I'll watch hockey on TV. It is a different experience when you are actually there.

Also, while we were in Des Moines, we went to see the movie Amazing Grace. It was very good, and I would love to see it again. Such a great story! We also did some shopping, and that was pretty much it. Not that big of a vacation, but still fun.

Smallville: "COMBAT"

Tonight on Smallville, Clark battled with his feelings over Lana's marriage to Lex by expressing anger toward meteor freaks who had escaped from justice. He had been going around Metropolis, taking justice into his own hands by capturing and even knocking out meteor freaks who had escaped prison or Belle Reeve.

Then given a tip from Oliver Queen (The Green Arrow), he checked out this site that hosted fights among meteor freaks, and a mysterious fighter named Titan. With the help of his sidekick Chloe, they discovered that the operator of Belle Reeve was taking patients, meteor freaks, from the hospital to the fight club and having Titan kill them for the worldwide web to see, or at least for those who paid a hefty sum of money for this reenactment of the coliseum days. They also discover that Titan is not a meteor freak, but rather a prisoner from the Phantom Zone.

Lois comes in at the opportune moment and discovers what Clark and Chloe have been researching, and so she decides to use this to her advantage for an Inquisitor story. She figures out where the fights are being held from a picture that Chloe had printed off and thrown away, and Lois shows up at their door with some boots and a marine-kicking attitude, taking out the woman guard and getting herself thrust onto the fight lineup.

Meanwhile, Clark confronts the operator of Belle Reeve, showing him his Man of Steel abilities and gaining a slot in the fight lineup. Back at the fight club, Clark is sent into the arena to fight who else but Lois Lane. Lois circles him for a little bit, telling him that she'll punch him if he doesn't punch her. Clark refuses, and she punches her fist into his stomach. Unfortunately for Lois, she is fighting the Man of Steel, and she recoils and says that Clark doesn't just have a six-pack under that shirt but a steel plate. Don't we know it!

While Lois is turned away, nursing her wounded hand, Clark uses his laser vision to fry the computers and stop the recording. Titan then enters the arena and goes after Clark, who he calls Kal-El. Lois tries to stop Titan, but is thrown off like a rag doll. The next thing to happen is a fight between Titan and the Man of Steel that can't be described, only watched. Pretty cool! Eventually, Clark wins - big surprise there - and Titan falls down dead.

When talking it over with his mother, Clark said that he felt such rage toward Titan and wanted to kill him with his bare hands. Martha Kent said that the anger he had been harboring toward Lana and Lex's wedding was behind his rage, and he had been looking to take that anger out on someone else, hence, Titan.

On the other side of the spectrum, Lana and Lex's marriage seems to be off to a rough start. There is no love like before. Lana eventually loses her baby, and she takes it pretty badly. At the end of the episode, Lex is seen burning up Lana's files. Will we ever know what truly went wrong?

Sadly, that was the end, and it looks like there won't be a new episode next week either. We'll just have to wait and see.

American Idol KickOFF Night (11)

Tonight was sad because one of my favorites from the beginning was kicked off. The bottom two tonight were Chris Richardson and Stephanie Edwards. Sadly, Stephanie was sent home. I loved her when she sang for the first time in the SemiFinals (24). Oh, well, she's good, but not the one that I want to see win. There are currently four that I could see winning...hopefully...Melinda Doolittle, LaKisha Jones, Jordin Sparks, and Blake Lewis. Other than that...I REALLY WANT TO SEE Sanjaya GONE!!! Does America have ears? He can't SING!!! He better not make it to the Top 6 or I'm gonna SCREAM! Anyway...see you all next week!

Bond Rewards

BondRewards helps individuals and families save money.

Founded in 2000, BondRewards is a unique rewards program that truly pays you back as you spend. It's simple: when you make purchases on websites affiliated with BondRewards, a percentage of your purchases are given back to you in your BondRewards account. You can redeem your "rewards" for U.S. Savings Bonds.

The inspiration for BondRewards comes from the fact that Americans are not saving money. In many cases, families spend more than they earn. Americans currently have a negative savings rate for the first time since the Great Depression.

With BondRewards, we turned that problem on its head. Now you can spend what you need to and save. Spending boosts the nation's economy, as does the purchase of U.S. Savings Bonds.

What a great idea! I am constantly shopping online and spending way more money than I earn. But with BondRewards, I can get a percentage of my purchases back and redeem them for U.S. Savings Bonds. Terrific Idea! I love it, and so will you! Sign up for BondRewards today, and begin saving!

American Idol *TOP 11* Night

Tuesday night on American Idol proved to be a better night than last week. The performances were much better, and the vocals were stunning, too. A lot of people had their best performances and even broke out of their shells.

In order of performance

(1) Haley Scarnato – Randy said that she chose the perfect song, it was her best performance so far, and it had the “yo” factor. Paula said that it was a great song choice and showed her adorable, flirtatious side off. Simon called her a naughty little thing and said that her performance was fun, young, and a bit shrieky. He also said that America will be talking about more than just her singing.

(2) Chris Richardson – Randy said that it was a great performance, showed a different side to him, and was his best vocal. Paula said that the arrangement was good, and he was sexy and charming. Simon said that it was his best performance to date, he had excellent control of his voice, and it didn’t sound old-fashioned.

(3) Stephanie Edwards – Randy said that it was a good song choice but not her best performance because she is brilliant at up-tempo songs. Paula said that she had on a great outfit, chose the right song, was a great singer, and the performance was fun. Simon said that she is losing her edge (I agree), her performance was night-cluby, she is losing her passion and rawness, and overall he wasn’t crazy about it.

(4) Blake Lewis – I thought it was his best performance so far. It was so much fun to watch. A terrific performance, great vocals, just overall fun! Randy said that he was edgy and his performance had a massive “wow” and “yo” factor – brilliant! Paula said that he had raised the bar, and she felt like she was at a concert because he could put that song on record right now. Simon said that it was a million times better than last week because he didn’t mess with the melody as much. He also said it was his strongest performance yet, and he made it contemporary and fun.

(5) LaKisha Jones – She was wearing one million dollars worth of diamonds tonight to go along with her song. Randy said that it was a good choice but not his favorite performance because there wasn’t enough of her in it. Paula said that she made a good choice of song. Simon said that her performance was like she was 50 years older! It wasn’t her best – too old!

(6) Phil Stacey – He rocked out tonight! Randy said it was a pretty good performance, and he loves to listen to his upper register. Paula said that it was a good choice of song, was fun, a good performance, but a little pitchy in spots. Simon said that he wasn’t crazy about it because it wasn’t believable. He said there is no grit in Phil’s voice, and he is being outsung by a lot of others.

(7) Jordin Sparks – Terrific! Randy said that the song she chose was a tall order for her but her voice was very controlled throughout, and he said that it was one of the best of the night – great, great performance! Paula said that she has great range and is a wonderful performer. Simon said that it was gloomy and depressing but she sang it beautifully! I really liked it, and I can see her in the Top Three!

(8) Sanjaya Malakar – He sang “Girl, You Really Got Me Now,” and he butchered, diced, and murdered it to pieces! Randy said that he had come out of his shell and was his best performance to date (I agree – but horrible vocal!). Paula said that he went for it and had fun. Simon said that the little girl’s face said it all (there was a little twelve-year-old girl who was crying during his performance – Simon was right – Cry in despair because that was HORRIBLE!!!) It was his best performance to date only because he got into it, but the more he “sang,” more like screamed, the worse his vocal got! He was everywhere with his vocal but on the right notes! If there is any justice in this world, he’ll be gone tonight!

(9) Gina Glocksen – Randy called her their resident rocker and said that it was alright, a little pitchy, and not his favorite vocal for her. Paula said that she was miles better than last week because she had fun with it tonight. Simon said that there were moments of complete torture in her vocal, it was so off melody, not very good, and style was over content. Her vocal could have been much better.

(10) Chris Sligh – He was pretty good this week, but he isn’t one of the top ranking guys. Randy said that it was a little rough at the beginning, but ended strong and good. Paula said that he had learned to dress good, he worked the audience, vocals were really good, but needs to be more personable. Simon said that he didn’t have a problem with the audience, contrary to what Paula thought, and that he made the right song choice, had personality, was better than last week but not his best vocal.

(11) Melinda Doolittle – Randy said that AI had saved the best vocal for last, as always! It was another stunning performance with great pitch. Paula said that she looked and sang beautiful and her vocals were never forced. Simon said she was sensational, her vocal was impeccable, and she’s very nice (kind). Go Melinda!

All in all, it was a great night for American Idol! Good job, guys! Can’t wait to see Sanjaya kicked off tonight…if there is any justice in the world…

(x)FACING^THE^GIANTS(o)

If you have ever seen the great movie Remember the Titans, then listen up! Facing the Giants is two times better than Remember the Titans! That's right! Facing the Giants was such an inspirational, moving movie going beyond the football games and piercing into the heart with the greatest message of all! Facing the Giants made me cry for joy. I could feel the love of God resonating through its amazing message. See this movie and open your heart to hear from your Creator who loves you very much and who can overwhelm you with blessings beyond your wildest dreams if you but come to Him.

The FIFTH Element - Diva Dance

One of my all time favorite movies has always been The Fifth Element. It is a movie with Bruce Willis and Resident Evil's Milla Jovovich. It is a terrific, futuristic movie with cool graphics, suspense-filled action, and a wonderfully-written plot. The end of the movie is the best, but there is also a part in the movie referred to as the Diva Dance. It starts out kinda weird, but it grows on you after you've watched the movie and listened to the song. This is my second favorite part of the movie. The end is the funniest and the best, but I'll settle for showing you my second fav. Enjoy the Diva Dance and watch The Fifth Element!

Spring Break 2007

This last week was my Spring Break (a whole 9 days off of school) and I loved it! I didn't really do much, sadly, but I did have fun and enjoyed it immensely. Just getting away from homework for a few days was pleasure enough! But what I did over Spring Break was read. Yeah, that's it! I basically spent my time in my room with a book in my lap. I was reading The Rising and The Regime by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins. Both of these books are from the Left Behind Prologue Series. I spent a lot of time just reading these two books and even got a start on the third - The Rapture. Great books! I've always loved the series ever since it came out. I can still remember walking past them in Wal-Mart (the first four of the series) and thinking what a great idea it was to write about End Times prophecy. Revelation is my favorite book of the Bible; I just love the prophecy about the future! But, anyway, I've had to wait several, several years for all the books to come out, and now finally in April the last book (#16 - Kingdom Come) is coming out. So...I decided that it was about time to read through the ENTIRE series. So far, I'm loving it! These books are terrific! So...that was my Spring Break, and now I must get back to reading.

***WILDFIRE***

Tonight on Wildfire Gillian came back to visit, and Junior fell harder for her this time around. Matt and Junior finally had a civil talk, but will they be the same friends of old? Probably not. Avatar won the race for Davis farms and Wildfire came in second for Raintree. Kris was just too occupied to really focus on the race. Her mind was on getting Matt and Junior back together. But at the end of the episode, Sheik Omar made an offer to Kris and Matt for an illegal race with Wildfire and Avatar for 1 million dollars. Will they take it? We'll find out in next week's season finale.

But even better than that is the news of the return of KYLE XY on Monday, April 2nd! Alright! I've been waiting all year to see what happens, and now it finally returns. It's about time! Hopefully it will be worth the long wait! We'll just have to wait and see.

Fireplaces & Fireplace Mantels

A fireplace can not only serve as a perfect source of added warmth on a frosty winter day, it can add a whole new level of elegance and style to almost any room in your home. The right fireplace mantel can really set off your existing décor, or can become the centerpiece of a brand new interior design plan. You can choose from a beautiful oak, an arched cherry, or a pure white style of fireplace mantels to go with your interior design.

And even if your home doesn't currently have a wood-burning fireplace, gas log and propane technologies have made it easy to install a beautiful fireplace virtually anywhere you want. And a fireplace gas log can add all the ambiance of a crackling fire without the mess of soot and ash or the danger of open flames and with the added convenience of a remote control to turn the flames on and off as you need.

A fireplace is the perfect addition to any home. Not only does it provide warmth, but they also fill your home with color, calmness, and a peace that only comes from the sweetness of the crackling flames. Whatever the occasion, a fireplace and a beautifully selected mantel light up the party and the mood.

Happy 20th Birthday, Laura!!!

On Wednesday, March 14th, it was my friend's birthday. So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LAURA!!! On Thursday, we celebrated her birthday over at my house with a little game. I had hidden her two gifts around the house and devised a cool scavenger hunt for her to find them. I defined simple things around the house (like a microwave), and she had to go to each thing in search of her next clue/definition until she found her gifts. At the 19th and the 20th clues, she received her gifts. It was a riot. We were laughing our heads off. One definition was of a window, and there are A LOT of those! It was great! It probably took her 30 minutes to get to the end of the scavenger hunt. It was hilarious!

Anyway, her first gift was the Prince of Persia PS2 game and Strategy Guide (an incentive for her to buy a PS2, which is something she really wants), and her second gift was a $10 gift card to Family Video (she loves movies!). It was an awesome night! And at the end of the night we watched Smallville, and being the nice friend that I am, I let her borrow my PS2. So, have fun with it, Laura! And Happy Birthday!

Oh, and Happy Birthday to Travis, too! (Her Twin)

Smallville: "PROMISE"

Airing last night on Smallville was episode 16: Promise. This episode dealt with the wedding of Alexander (Lex) Luthor and Lana Lang. It was a very good yet horrible episode. I hated it! Naw, it was awesome! Throughout the episode, the times would change back to the beginning of the day and show the same scene you just saw from another person's perspective.

Onto the Story - Lana tricked Chloe into going to the wine cellar to get Lex's present so she could then shut the door on Chloe, manipulating her into calling Clark for help. When Clark came zipping in, Lana saw it all - the ripping off of the door handle, the lifting of the door, the securing of the door back in place with his heat vision, and the zipping of his feet as he "ran" out the door. Lana finally discovered his secret! And she also discovered that Clark still loved her.

Lana immediately started to write a note to Lex about not being able to go through with the wedding when Clark came in the door. She told him to meet her at his barn at 5 p.m. because she was not going to marry Lex. After Clark left, in walked Lionel Luthor with a threat. He could tell that Lana knew about Clark's secret, so he told her that if she did not marry Lex, he would kill Clark for he knew what his weakness was.

All the while, we are wondering what is really up with Lana's baby. Lex has a meeting with her physician that ends in Lex killing him. It must be a pretty big secret!

At the wedding, we hold our breath. Will she show or not? Unfortunately, she does, and the wedding proceeds without so much as a hesitation. We now present to you, Lex and Lana Luthor.

After the wedding ceremony, Clark enters Lana's room and asks her why she didn't meet him. She tells him that she wants to be with Lex. Clark is crestfallen. The episode ends with Lana and Lex sitting in the back of their limo, being driven off into the sunset, while Lana looks back on Clark, who stands alone in the crowd of well-wishers.

It was a terrific, horribly good episode. So sad. The good thing is that Lana is getting farther and farther away from Clark's grasp. But we all know that as long as she lives, he will never stop thinking of her. Something drastic has to happen. Her death? I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Till Next Thursday!

American Idol KickOFF Night (12)

On Wednesday Night for AI, it was the half-hour kickoff show. The Lowest 3 people were Phil Stacey (3), Sanjaya Malakar (2), and Brandon Rogers (1). Brandon was gone tonight...sadly. He was pretty cool, but we all know he would've never won. Go Gals!!! And hopefully, Sanjaya will be the next to go!

American Idol TOP 12 Night

This week on American Idol, the TOP 12 performed for their first time on the big stage. I thought that this week was not that great at all, for both the guys and the gals. The gals still exceeded the boys by miles, but overall, this was not a good week.

In order of performance

(1) Brandon Rogers – He forgot his words this week. Will this affect the voting? Randy said that he was uninteresting and that he had reverted back to being a background singer. Paula said pretty much the same thing, and Simon said he was a let down, very predictable, and had no originality. Too bad, Brandon.

(2) Melinda Doolittle – My personal favorite, and the one I’m hoping will sweep the votes and win this year, once again made an impression. Big shocker there! Randy said that she was hot, had a really strong voice, but it was not her best. Paula was crying and said that she was so excited for Melinda – this is where she’s meant to be! Simon said that she made a boring song fantastic! Go Melinda!!!

(3) Chris Sligh – Randy said that he has a good voice but the song was mess. The arrangement was horrible. Paula also said he had a nice voice but that he was in a way trying too hard. Simon said that he murdered the arrangement and that the song was unemotional and uninspiring.

(4) Gina Glocksen – Randy said that it was not his favorite, was boring, had no excitement, and was a little pitchy in spots. Paula said that her pitch was off and she can do much better than that. Simon said that it was okay, wasn’t terrible or fantastic, a little forgettable, but it was a good song choice.

(5) Sanjaya Malakar – When will he LEAVE? Randy said that it wasn’t very good (shocker!), almost unlistenable, really weak, but he had nice hair. Paula said that he has a sweet soul but he needs to explode with his vocals. (Sweet soul or not, he can’t be on here any longer! He can’t sing!) Simon said that he was very brave (his “positive” take) meaning that it was horrific!

(6) Haley Scarnato – forgot her words just like Brandon. Randy said it was a valiant effort and he could tell that she was nervous. Paula said that she looked lovely but that her pitch was off. Simon – WOW – he said that it wasn’t that bad and that he was very impressed with her presence on stage. He could tell that her nerves got the better of her but there were moments in her vocals that were actually good. He also said that he will remember her now, she looked like a star, and she may do better than he originally thought.

(7) Phil Stacey – Randy said that his performance was a little boring but the vocals were great. Paula said that his vocals were good as well but he needs to sing songs that are a little more up-tempo. Simon said that he chose the right song and that it wasn’t outstanding but better than last week.

(8) LaKisha Jones (nickname: Keke) – Randy said that she chose the perfect song, has unbelievable vocal talent, and was sensational. Paula said that she is a beautiful performer and her heart really comes through in her singing. Simon said that some people have it and some people don’t – she’s got it! LaKisha and Melinda are in a different league: they perform likes stars, have great vocal control, and are not intimidated by the stage.

(9) Blake Lewis – I actually liked his take on the song. I thought it was pretty cool, but the judges didn’t. Randy said that he should let the classics be classics. He also said that he sings better than that, but he is definitely a modern, hip, cool kinda guy. Paula said that he was good but needed more vocals in the song. Simon said that he didn’t get it. It didn’t sound as good as he had earlier in the show.

(10) Stephanie Edwards – Randy said that she had good vocals, perfect song choice, but he was waiting for the song to quicken and go up-tempo, but it didn’t. Paula said that she can strive for better but that she has a beautiful voice. Simon said that she teased them with the good part and then failed to deliver when she didn’t sing the up-tempo part. He said she was outsung by LaKisha and Melinda.

(11) Chris Richardson – Randy said that he was half and half – good and not good. Paula said that he nailed the blend, unlike Sligh and Lewis, and that he brought it well into the contemporary, doing a good job. Simon said that the vocals were dreadful and terrible.

(12) Jordin Sparks – Randy said that for only being 17 he was very, very impressed and also said that it was now a 3-girl race! Paula said that she was a breath of fresh air and drew her in right away. Simon said she was gooey (???) and had a very, very good vocal. She’s got a shot at the finals, as Simon said.

Well…that was the end of the Top 12 night! It was an okay night. The top 3 girls were awesome as always, but they could’ve done better. The only real great performance was Jordin Sparks. She was terrific!

Babysitting Blues

Have you ever seen the movie Adventures in Babysitting? As a kid it was my favorite movie to watch while coloring. For some reason I just really liked it a lot. Anyway, I always liked this song from the movie. Enjoy!

Keyloggers

Ever heard of a keylogger? Well, if you haven't, a keylogger is a program that keeps track of those who use your computer, the Internet, or different programs. Ever wanted to know exactly what your kids are doing every minute they are on the computer? Are they really doing their homework or are they surfing the Net? With a keylogger, parents can keep track of children's activities, whether it be in Word or on the Web. Even your children's myspace accounts can be tracked and protected more with a keylogger.

But keyloggers don't stop there. Not only can they be used for personal use but also for businesses. It can be used in the office to keep an eye on employee activity, making sure that they are staying on task and following the company policies and procedures. With this software, anything ranging from recording websites to storing away passwords into memory can be done.

Keyloggers are not only a great way to monitor users but to also keep children and employees safe. With all these great benefits, you can't go wrong with a keylogger.

College Movie Monday

On Monday March 5th I went to my hometown theatre, the expensive one, for college movie Monday night. The movies only cost $3 each, so I went to two. I saw "Bridge to Terabithia (BTT)" and "The Astronaut Farmer (AF)." Both were excellent movies, and I highly recommend seeing them. BTT was a great family movie about imagination and something else. It was a sad movie, but well worth seeing. AF was probably my favorite of the night, though. It was very inspirational and had a great message about holding onto your dreams. It was all over terrific!

Music & Lyrics

Today me, my dad, and my mom went to the cheap Fridley theatre near where we live to watch the movie Music & Lyrics. It was a pretty decent and good movie, but I don't think it's worth seeing more than once. I would recommend seeing it, though. There was nothing wrong with it except for the fact that the two main characters slept together. I'm not too tolerant of that in romantic movies or most movies because I don't believe in it. I proudly proclaim that I am a VIRGIN and am waiting until I get married to have sex. I want to give that gift to my husband, and I don't want to get STDs or become infertile. Abstaining is the best thing to do! And I'm proud of that choice I've made in my life.

Anyway, about the movie...it was a good movie with a good storyline. Nothing terrific about it...just average. So you decide. To see or not to see...that is the question.

American Idol Kickoff Night (16)

Well...it's time to pick the TOP 12!!!

Guess who finally got voted off!

ANTONELLA BARBA!!!

And...

Jared Cotter

And...SURPRISINGLY...

Sabrina Sloan and Sundance Head

As Randy put it, AMERICA GOT IT WRONG!!!

Sabrina and Sundance can sing!
It is Sanjaya and Haley that can't! If anything, it should've been those two gone! And they better be gone next!

American Idol Girls' Night (8)

On Wednesday it was finally the great girls' night! As Randy put it, "It is definitely a different show than the guys!" I so agree! I love listening to the gals sing this year. Goodbye to the guys!

In order of performance

(1) Jordin Sparks – She was pretty rockin’ with her song “Heartbreaker.” I loved her performance! Randy said that it was hot and better than all the boys. Ouch! Poor, guys! Paula said that she keeps getting better and better. Simon said that it wasn’t her strongest performance but still good.

(2) Sabrina Sloan – Randy said that it was a good, solid performance. Paula said that she can sing, sing, sing and that she has an amazing instrument! Simon said that it was lacking emotion, robotic, needed personality, and was mechanical. She is still one of my favs.

(3) Antonella Barba – Randy said that she chose a good song for the night but that she doesn’t believe in herself. Paula also commented on her good song choice. And Simon said that she has gone as far as she can go, there’s not much more she can do, her voice won’t get much better. He also said that he wished she could sing better. I don’t. I want her GONE!!!

(4) Haley Scarnato – Randy said that her performance was okay, but it had no pizzazz, no wow factor. Paula said that she sang it well. Simon said that it was horrible and sounded like a high school musical. He even said that he didn’t know her name. There was no lasting impression. She was and is lost in the crowd.

(5) Stephanie Edwards – Randy said that her performance this week was okay, and Paula said that it was near flawless, beautiful, and that she had great showmanship. Simon said that she is one of the best AI has got, but that she’s also a little of a copy-cat. He also said that she will definitely make it to the top twelve!

(6) LaKisha Jones – Randy said that it was another great performance but not her best. Paula said that American already loves you and that she’s working on being the next Idol. Simon said that she brought passion, talent, believability, the wow factor, and her outfit was hot!

(7) Gina Glocksen – She was great this week, showing off her real self with an Evanescence song. Randy said that we were finally able to see the real Gina, the edgy Gina! Paula said that she was showing off who she is and her true style. Simon said that she looked comfortable up there but that the song was screamed a little. But he ended with the compliment of her being a breath of fresh air. He said she deserves the Top 12!

(8) Melinda Doolittle – WOW, I love this gal!!! She is the best! Even better than LaKisha! Every single time she has gotten a GREAT review from Simon. She never stops getting better and better! Randy said that she was the hottest of the night and was ready to go in the studio and make an album right then. Paula said that she is likable, lovable, and fantastic! Simon called her a little Tiger (he though she was a pussycat – not anymore)! She’s the BEST!!!

Well, that was AI on Wednesday! Just keeps getting better and better! I can’t wait to see which GIRL wins this year! I really can’t wait to see all the guys kicked off. None of them could beat these awesome girls!

American Idol Guys' Night (8)

On Tuesday night it was the last chance for the guys to prove themselves worthy of the top 12. Unfortunately, Simon said that it was a disappointing week for the guys, and I have to agree. They have never been that great, and they just are topping the girls. That is why I always look forward to Wednesday and never Tuesdays. The girls are TOO good!!!

In Order of Performance

(1) Blake Lewis - He was pretty good this week. He did more bebopping and scatting. Randy said that he was keeping up with the current artists, and Simon said that he stood out as an individual because of his unique style. Good performance.

(2) Sanjaya Malakar - I have never liked this guy and have believed that he should have been gone from the beginning. This week didn't prove any different for me. Simon said that it was better than last week, but he didn't have a very good vocal. He also said that THIS IS A SINGING COMPETITION and that he's only stayed because he's popular. Simon said it was probably because of his hair.

(3) Sundance Head - He is a pretty cool guy, but I thought that last week was better. Paula said that he did really, really well, but Simon said that he didn't like it because he had lost his charm. He said that it sounded like a generic bar song. Better luck next time, Sundance.

(4) Chris Richardson - Chris did really good this week. He was one of the better ones. Randy said that he was in it to win it and was glad to see that he put his own twists into the song. Chris switches it up! Paula said that he has adapted well in the competition and that he chose a great song. Simon said that it was not his best, was cutsie, timid, and safe, but he sold it.

(5) Jared Cotter - I have never liked this guy, and I can't exactly figure out why. I guess I just don't like his voice, and none of his performances have ever really wowed me. Randy said he had a solid, good performance. Paula said that he should work on coloring it up a bit. And Simon said that it was not original and would get lost in the mix. No wow factor, again.

(6) Brandon Rogers - When I heard his first audition, I instantly liked this guy, and he has stayed one of my favorites since the start of AI. Randy said that it was a good, solid performance. Paula said that he had proven why he belonged on that stage. Simon said that the song may give him a problem. He said his performance was okay but not great, and it wasn't a memorable song.

(7) Phil Stacey - This guy is pretty cool. Randy said that he needs to work on the lower register. He can definitely hit the high notes, but the low notes are getting hit right on. Paula said that it was not his best performance. Simon said that he has big eyes (okay?) and that he chose a strange song - wasn't good enough.

(8) Chris Sligh - For the night, I thought that Sligh was the best of the guys. Randy agreed with me by saying that he was the best vocal of the night. Paula said that it was not his best and that he needs to keep rising above. Simon also said that it wasn't one of his strongest, but that he has a lot of potential.

Well...that was the night for the guys. Maybe Wednesday night will prove to be better. What am I saying? Of course it will! We've got Melinda Doolittle, Jordin Sparks, LaKisha Jones, Sabrina Sloan, Stephanie Edwards, and Gina Glocksen!!! They are sure to be great! Them six should make it to the top 12! If they don't, boy will I be disappointed!
