HEROES: "Landslide"

Tonight on the new episode of HEROES...

Peter Petrelli came in contact with Ted Sprague and absorbed his ability. He looked to Claire for help, and she reached into her purse and took out the gun he had given her only moments before. She aimed it at him, but he stopped her. The radioactive power began to subside and Peter went back to normal.

Back at Isaac Mendez's apartment, Hiro looks at his broken sword in dismay, but Ando hatches an idea and goes over to the telephone book. Inside he finds a blacksmith that specializes in samurai swords, so they give him a call.

After Claire has a talk with her father about her destiny, Mr. Bennet concludes that Parkman and him will destroy the Walker Tracking System while Claire goes with Peter and Sprague to Nevada to escape from New York City. Unbeknownst to them, Sylar listens in only a couple yards away and agrees that he's in on the plan as well.

Nathan Petrelli has another meeting with Linderman about the election and the bomb. Linderman once again reassures him that he is doing what must be done. Nathan's wife interrupts before Nathan can reply, and Linderman bids them farewell, but not after taking hold of Nathan's wife's hand and healing her. When Nathan and her talk after Linderman has left, Nathan notices that her foot is moving, and he then helps his wife to her feet with a knowledgeable smile on his face.

As Peter Petrelli, Ted Sprague, and Claire Bennet make their way through the city, Peter hears Sylar's thoughts and knows that he is in the vicinity. They hide for a little while, and then they start to move through the city once again. Sylar, on the other hand, has a desire to gets his hands on Sprague, and so he calls in Sprague's location to the police. The police show up, along with Parkman's old partner (the woman cop), and they arrest Ted Sprague for being a dangerous terrorist. Peter and Claire get away with the use of Peter's invisibility.

As Hiro makes his way through the city to reach the blacksmith, he and Ando come across Nathan Petrelli, and they have a talk with him about the future, specifically his future as a bad person. Nathan tells Hiro that there is no one who can stop the bomb, and Hiro says that Nathan is already a bad person. As Nathan gets into his vehicle and leaves, Hiro shouts out at him, "Villain! Villain! Villain!"

Micah, who is still with Miss Illusionist, notices that she sure eats a lot and comments that his cousin is huge because he eats so much. Miss Illusionist then says that she is huge, so we get the impression that she is an illusion and not in her true form. As her and Micah talk, she tells him that what he is going to do will save the lives of many people. Linderman soon enters and reassures Micah of the same thing. Miss Illusionist then takes Micah to where the votes are being cast for the election, and she has Micah make all of the computers and the networks in the city and surrounding areas vote for Nathan Petrelli. Nathan then wins by a landslide!

When Hiro and Ando get to the blacksmith shop, Hiro is surprised to see that his father is there. Hiro's father then beckons for Hiro to follow him, but Ando warns Hiro and tells him not to allow his father to sway him. But Hiro discovers that his father is for his mission and not against it. His father had been watching his journey's progress, wondering if his son was ready for the responsibility of his power and his mission. Hiro is surprised, and his father tells him that it is now time for him to take training and learn how to be a real Kensai warrior, one who is willing to take out his own heart for the people he loves and needs to protect (as portrayed in the Japanese story that Hiro was told as a child). The training then begins!

While Peter and Claire continue on with their journey to get out of New York, Sylar continues on with his desire for Ted Sprague's power. Sylar crashes the vehicle that is transporting Ted, and then he takes Ted's head off, stealing his radioactive power. Who's the bomb now?

When Nathan Petrelli arrives at his office, he is "greeted" by DL and Jessica/Nikki. They tell him about Linderman's kidnapping of Micah, and they "ask" for the whereabouts of Linderman so that they can finish the job that Nathan was supposed to complete. Nathan tells them that he cannot be involved in his murder, and DL reassures him by saying that Linderman will receive his payment for his deeds in full.

At the building where Linderman resides, Parkman and Bennet sneek in to destroy the Walker Tracking System, and they come across DL and Jessica/Nikki who appear to have the same mission in mind. They team up together and both get to the places in the building where they need to be.

Parkman and Bennet get off on a lower floor and preceed to walk down the hall toward the room that houses the Walker Tracking System. Parkman hears Bennet's boss's thoughts about killing Bennet, and Parkman pulls him back just in time for the bullet to go shooting past them. Bennet pulls a gun out and leaves Parkman. As Parkman waits, Bennet's boss sneaks up behind him and says, "What am I thinking now, Parkman?" Mr. Bennet points his gun at his boss and says, "Your last thought!" and fires the gun twice, killing his boss. Parkman and Bennet then make their way to the room, open the door, walk in, pull back the curtains, and find a little girl named Molly Walker hiding behind her bed. Mr. Bennet points his gun at the girl, and Parkman asks if he knew it was a child. Mr. Bennet says that he knew it was a person but not a child. Suresh then knocks Parkman out and points his own gun at Mr. Bennet, telling him to put the gun down. Mr. Bennet points his gun at Molly and tells Suresh that if he shoots him, he will kill the girl. The two of them look at each other, each measuring up the situation.

DL and Jessica/Nikki reach Linderman's office and confront him about the whereabouts of their son. Linderman tells them that he is in the building and on the 42nd floor. He also tells them that Jessica will kills DL. Linderman walks over to a couch and spills out the contents of a black bag. There on the table is a pile of money. Linderman speaks of Jessica's need for security and how money is the only way she will feel secure. He offers her 20 million. Jessica looks at DL and then Linderman and says that she would take the money, but Nikki wouldn't. In an act of sheer kindness and compassion, Jessica gives up her will and Nikki surfaces. Nikki runs to DL and tells Linderman that she loves her husband and Micah and everything she has done she has done for them. Linderman pulls out a gun, DL steps in front of Nikki, and Linderman shoots DL. He then points the gun at Nikki and tells her that she should have taken the money. DL shoves his hand into Linderman's head and kills him, leaving a big gashing hole in the back of his head. Nikki runs to DL and holds him as blood pours from his wound. He tells her that even though Linderman had set them up together, he still believes that they had something real.

Back at the blacksmith, Hiro completes his training with his father and runs out of the room to tell Ando the good news about their mission. Hiro finds that Ando has left with the fixed sword to complete Hiro's mission alone because he believed that his friend was not returning and would not complete his journey. Hiro looks around, frantic to find his friend.

While trying to leave New York, Peter and Claire are met with a roadblock. When they go to investigate, they discover that Ted Sprague is dead and Sylar now has his power. Peter says that Sylar will destroy the whole city if they do not stop him. Peter and Claire go back to their car, turning back into New York City.

Before stepping up before the people, Nathan tells his wife that they must wait to tell the world of the wonderful miracle of her healing. Nathan and his family then step in front of the microphones and cameras, and Nathan Petrelli gives a very pleasing and rewarding speech, thanking the people for their votes and their support.

The last scene of the episode shows Sylar atop a high building in New York City trying out his new ability. As the camera comes closer, the evil is shown in Sylar's eyes as he says, "BOOM."
