Smallville: "PROTOTYPE"

Tonight on Smallville was the episode PROTOTYPE. This episode was about Lex's top secret military project called Ares. This project involved Wes Keenan, who was the husband of Jodi Keenan, the woman who had kidnapped Lex in the episode NEMESIS. At the beginning of this new episode, Lex was seen having a test run for his new prototype. The test run was successful, and Wes made his way through the top-secret, high-security facility in under 3 minutes.

Lex was then seen talking with Senator Burke about the project, and the Senator said that Lex was to shut down the project and discontinue it. Lex sent his prototype after the Senator and had him and his men killed. However, always showing up at the worst of times was Loise Lane, who witnessed the killings and saw Wes, a man she had known in the military.

Lex found out that there had been a witness to the Senator murder, and so he sent his prototype after the witness. When Wes met up with Lois, Clark was there to try to stop him, but Wes left with Lois Lane, leaving Clark stunned at Wes's abilities and strength. When Lois woke up, she had a talk with Wes and found out that he was being controlled. Through the Luthorcorp satellites, Wes was reprogrammed and started to strangle Lois. At that moment, Clark came in, and using his heat vision, he stopped Wes and damaged his programming, ultimately putting a stop to Lex's prototype. Lois wept over the loss of her childhood friend while Clark looked on from his hiding place.

Later in Lex's lab, we find out that Lex had taken apart Titan and used his tissue and DNA to make his prototype. The scientists at the labs informed Lex that he wouldn't be able to continue on in project Ares because they had used up almost all of Titan, but Lex told them that it was only the beginning. The lights turned on and body after body was seen through the glass - what could become an army.

Also in this episode, Clark talks to Lionel and then Lana about the wedding day. He still can't get anything out of Chloe, but he won't give up on discovering what exactly went down on that day. He threatens Lionel, telling him that if he had anything to do with changing Lana's mind, the gloves would come off. Also, Martha Kent replaced Burke and became the new U.S. Senator.

Lana and Lex continue to grow farther apart in this episode. Lex set up a romantic night, but Lana shunned him and his work got in the way as well. Near the end of the episode, Lex talks with Lana about his meeting with Senator Burke, and he tells her that he found out that she was listening in. He then tells her that every person he has cared for has turned on him and betrayed him. He says then that if she betrayed him, he wouldn't know what he would do. We do, though. Her betrayal will be only the beginning of Lex Luthor's crime streak!

The last episode, the FINALE called PHANTOM, looks AWESOME!!! Can't wait until next Thursday!!! And then after the finale, we get to wait about FIVE MONTHS until the beginning of Season Seven!!! What a wait!
